I came to know David since his father, Murray was senior partner at Taylor & Humbert and, like David, such a clever, kind, modest, self effacing man. After being offered a job with the firm I insisted on a second interview with Murray at a local wine bar in Red Lion Street. He took it in his stride and we remained firm friends and close working colleagues. Later I instructed David when I was a construction lawyer for a while and he became a friend. I am so very sorry.
