I have fond memories of David from his time at 4 Pump Court. He was a very well liked and respected member of chambers; I greatly enjoyed his company as a colleague and was very sorry when he left. I was also fortunate to be led by him on a couple of occasions, and remember not only his supreme intellectual ability but also his calm temperament under pressure, which in combination made him a formidable barrister. I was greatly saddened to hear of his premature death, and send my best wishes to his family and loved ones. Kate Vaughan-Neil
